As a new breed of family business, we put people first by showing compassion, embracing diverse thinking and empowering our people to show up as their best selves. We ensure everybody – regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, or background – is supported, valued and respected. We support, empower and listen, giving our people continued opportunities to become the best they can possibly be.
We are delighted to have been certified as a Great Place to Work® Middle East in the UAE, for a second consecutive year, endorsing our wider people-first approach, strategy and initiatives in helping build the culture we strive for through an engaged, passionate and motivated team.
At AKI, we approach everything we do with a spirit of smart agility, entrepreneurial energy and an open-to-opportunity attitude. At every step, every touchpoint and every interaction we strive for excellence.
With a culture of accountability, adaptability and a drive to become the best we can possibly be, AKI is a place where high performance isn’t just a goal but a shared aspiration that defines our organizational ethos.
We support, empower and listen, giving our people continued opportunities to become the best they can possibly be. Embracing a culture of continuous learning, we provide comprehensive training programmes and growth opportunities that empower individuals to flourish both professionally and personally. From skill-building workshops to mentorship programmes, we foster an environment where curiosity is rewarded, and innovation is celebrated.
EBDA, which means ‘new beginning’, is AKI’s Graduate Development Programme designed to nurture and accelerate the growth of our fresh graduates. Through a structured programme, graduates from a range of backgrounds are immersed in an environment that encourages learning, growth, and innovation.
Our programme is designed to empower participants with a combination of hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and targeted training. We are dedicated to nurturing a new generation of professionals who not only contribute to the success of our organisation but also make a positive impact on the industries and sectors they serve.
AKI is a family business where people come first, governed by the fundamental principle of our founder and chairman, Dr. Saad F. Al Khayyat – fairness and respect. With more than 70 nationalities represented at all levels of the organisation, we all work together to create a culture of belonging, embracing diversity in our decision-making.
Our values serve as a mandate for AKI to include wellness at the core of our thinking and wider strategy. Everyone at AKI has the opportunity to prioritise their health and wellbeing, both physical and mental, and they are able choose from a range of programmes and support services to design a tailored health platform and programme.
The AKI Wellness Programme, with diverse offerings, has proven highly beneficial, fostering a happier, healthier, and more productive environment. Our ongoing commitment drives positive change and supports our people in achieving their wellbeing goals.
From supporting Dubai Pharmacy College to participating in Red Crescent supported initiatives, community involvement is an integral part of AKI’s founding principles. Our teams have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of volunteer and community engagement activities and we encourage them to play an active role in driving positive change.
By actively working with the communities we touch, AKI serves as a catalyst for change and aims to instill a sense of purpose and pride among our people.
Emiratisation is one of the key initiatives of the UAE government designed to support Emiratis in private sector roles and help drive the wider economic development of the country. AKI is committed to the implementation of the programme and to our responsibility in developing Emirati talent.
In line with this vision, we support enhancing our initiatives and efforts towards Emiratisation by nurturing local talents and focusing on providing rewarding career opportunities. We also work on the UAE government’s NAFIS initiative that aims to support Emirati nationals to pursue their professional careers in the private sector.
